Town Hall Grand Organ Concert

This week, Dan and I represented the under-30 contingency at the free Town Hall Grand Organ concert. The Grand Organ was installed at Town Hall in 1890, but work to continue renovating the organ will continue for the next several years. With over 9,000 pipes, it takes a lot of work to keep it in good working condition.

We enjoyed music written by Mendelssohn, Bach, Brumby, Vierne and Gigout and performed by Christopher Wrench, a graduate of the Queensland and Vienna Conservatoria and the Vienna University of Music. His coordination (two hands each doing something different, feet following a third strain) was impressive!
